The Great Wall at Jinshanling & Simatai
Jinshanling and Simatai are two beautiful, more remote sections of the Great Wall. They are about 2.5-3 hours drive from Beijing. I can take you sightseeing at both sections, or you can go on a 4-5 hour hike on the Great Wall from Jinshanlin to Simatai. Both tours take between 8-10 hours. We will also stop at the Olympic venues on our way back.
Jinshanling and Simatai can also be visited as part of a two-day trip to 
Chengde Mountain Resort.
For the more adventurous, I can arrange to stay a night camping on a watchtower of the Jinshanling section.

Important Update for 2012:
The Simatai section of the Great Wall is CLOSED.
The Simatai section is currently closed for repairs and renovations. There is no reliable information of when work will be completed, but the estimated time is (Spring) 2013. Tours to Simatai now have to be altered because the way to Simatai from Jinshanling has been blocked.
A great alternative is trecking the Great Wall from Jiankou to Mutianyu (still in the original state, only 15 RMB for access). Hiking both sections at Huang Hua Cheng & Mutianyu in one day is also a very good option.
Sightseeing at both Sections [full day, 8-10 hours]
- Pick-up from your accommodation around 08:30 h (earlier/later if you prefer).
- About 1.5-2 hours drive to Jinshanling section (depending on traffic). We can stop for breakfast along the way if you like.
- Please note: We use the new highway (toll costs included in price), not the congested, slow state roads. This will save about 1 hour each way.
- Visiting Jinshanlig section for about 2 hours (cable car access).
- Drive to Simatai Section, stop for lunch if you like.
- Visiting Simatai Section for about 2 hours (cable car access & "flying fox" for the brave!).
- Drive back to Beijing.
- Stop at the Olympics area to see the OLYMPIC STADIUM & AQUATIC CENTRE.
If you prefer to stop at a different sight, not a problem; just let me know! - Drop-off at your accommodation around 18:00 h.
Hiking the Great Wall from Jinshanling to Simatai [full day]
- Pick-up from your accommodation around 08:30 h (earlier/later if you prefer).

- Drop-off at Jinshanling. I am happy to assist with directions, buying tickets, food, etc.
- 4-5 hour hike on the Great Wall (about 7 km).
- You do not need to rush. I will be waiting for you at the Simatai section. Afterwards, we can have lunch, if you like.
- Drive back to Beijing.
- Stop at the Olympics area to see the OLYMPIC STADIUM & AQUATIC CENTRE.
If you prefer to stop at a different sight, not a problem; just let me know! - Drop-off at your accommodation around 18:00 h.
