Datong & Pingyao [4 full days]
Day 1: Beijing - Datong
- Pick-up from your Beijing accommodation in the early morning.
- 2 hour drive on the highway to the Great Wall at Badaling; stop for breakfast on the way, if you like.
- Explore the Great Wall.
- Continue to the Hanging Temple in the early afternoon (with stop at a local village).
- Visit the Hanging Temple for about 2 hours.
- Check into your Datong accommodation.
- Time for dinner!
Day 2: Datong - Taiyuan
- Check out of your Datong accommodation after breakfast.
- Visit the Yungang Grottos for about 3 hours in the morning.
- Drive towards Taiyuan.
- Stop at remote original sections of the Great Wall at Yanmenguan (free of charge).
- Look at Tomb of Emperor Han (free of charge).
- Check into Taiyuan accommodation in the evening and have dinner.

Day 3: Taiyuan - Pingyao
- Visit of the Jinci Temple in the morning.
- Arrive in Pingyao in the early afternoon.
- Explore the ancient city of Pingyao.
- Enjoy Pingyao hospitality & night life
Day 4: Pingyao
- Further explore Pingyao's numerous sights.
- Take a walk on the ancient city wall.
- Return to Beijing with me by car in the early afternoon (round trip option),
or continue to Xi'an by train (destination tour option).
